Ondex Automation has acquired The Fitch Company, a Rumford, Maine-based electrical engineering and process automation systems integrator founded in 1986. The deal marks Ondex's sixth acquisition since April 2024, reflecting aggressive growth under Shore Capital Partners' backing. Ondex, a Chicago-based discrete and process automation integrator, is expanding its geographic reach and service capabilities through the purchase.

Mark Bolduc, president of The Fitch Company, will remain as general manager after the transaction closes. The acquisition gives Ondex a stronger foothold in the Northeast market and adds electrical engineering expertise to its portfolio. With six deals in roughly a year, the firm signals intent to consolidate automation services across multiple regions.

The Fitch Company's 38-year track record in electrical engineering and process automation makes it a meaningful add-on for Ondex's platform. Combined with the pace of acquisitions, the deal positions the Shore Capital-backed portfolio company to compete more aggressively for larger industrial automation contracts.
