X Pro Hidden Behind $40/Month Premium+ Paywall

Social network X has moved its multi-column interface X Pro behind a $40/month Premium+ paywall without notifying users. Formerly known as TweetDeck, X Pro was previously free and later included in the standard $8/month Premium plan. The sudden change came without warning on March 26, leaving many users frustrated and complaining about the lack of communication and transparency.

The platform now requires a subscription that's five times more expensive than the previous Premium tier to access X Pro. X's website vaguely states that features are "subject to change at any time" while the Help center confirms the new restriction. Premium+ subscribers also receive no ads except for sponsored content, vanity blue checkmarks, and expanded post reach compared to lower-tier plans.

X's three-tier subscription structure continues with Basic at $3/month, Premium at $8/month, and Premium+ at $40/month. The price increase represents another shift in X's monetization strategy under Elon Musk's ownership, following the controversial removal of free verification marks and the introduction of various subscription benefits that were previously standard features for all users.
