Apple is likely to unveil a new M6 MacBook Pro and refreshed iMacs in October, based on its typical release schedule, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The base model is expected ahead of new high-end MacBook Pro models with OLED displays and M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, which could arrive between the end of this year and early 2027.

Gurman reported Apple was testing the laptops with macOS 27.1, scheduled for release at the end of October. The iMac update will likely be an updated 24-inch model with an M5 or M6 chip, replacing the existing M4 model, with no major design changes expected.

Apple is also reportedly developing a 24-inch iMac with an OLED display, though that won't arrive for several years. According to Gurman, Apple will release a regular M6 chip but has no plans to offer higher-end M6 Pro and M6 Max chips, citing AI as the reason for this break in tradition.
