Apple's WWDC 2026 keynote centered on a complete rebuild of Siri as Siri AI, leveraging Foundation Models co-developed with Google using Gemini technologies. The new assistant enables natural conversation, onscreen awareness, and personal context understanding across all on-device content, though it requires a waitlist and launches in English only, excluding the EU and China initially.

Performance gains arrive across the board with iOS 27 supporting iPhone 11 and newer. Apps launch up to 30% faster, iCloud Photos sync 70% quicker, and AirDropped images transfer 80% faster. Liquid Glass gets refined transparency controls with a system-wide opacity slider, while macOS Golden Gate addresses Mac-specific shadow and contrast issues.

Apple Intelligence spreads throughout the ecosystem: Messages and Mail gain contextual suggestions, Calendar adds natural language event creation, and Photos introduces Reframe for perspective adjustments. Safari can generate browser extensions from descriptions and auto-update compromised passwords. Shortcuts now creates workflows from natural language prompts.

Developer betas are available immediately for all six operating systems, with public beta arriving in July and general release slated for September alongside the new iPhone lineup. Most Siri AI features remain free with iCloud+, though image generation carries daily usage limits and relies on Apple's Private Cloud Compute infrastructure.
