Apple's iOS 27 will bring a dramatically upgraded Siri with Apple Intelligence. Originally announced for iOS 18 but delayed due to architectural issues, the new Siri will access personal data, understand onscreen content, and integrate deeply with apps. This marks Apple's most significant upgrade to its virtual assistant, transforming it into a sophisticated chatbot with contextual awareness.

The redesigned Siri will primarily live in the Dynamic Island, accessed by swiping down from the center of the display. Users can ask complex questions, have multi-turn conversations, and even delegate to third-party chatbots like Claude or Gemini. Privacy remains central, with options to auto-delete chats after 30 days or one year.

Apple partnered with Google to use Gemini AI models for the underlying technology. Siri will debut at WWDC 2026 on June 8, with public betas arriving in July and the full release in September. The assistant will require an iPhone 15 Pro or later, limiting availability to Apple's newest hardware.
