Apple's Siri Overhaul Coming to WWDC 2026

Apple's long-awaited Siri overhaul finally has a launch date at WWDC 2026 in June. The virtual assistant, codenamed "Campo," represents Apple's commitment to improving software quality after recent criticism. After missing developer beta builds for iOS 26.4, macOS Tahoe, and iPadOS 26.4, the next probable arrival window for this significant update is Apple's annual developer showcase.

The new Siri will feature an interface similar to popular chatbots like ChatGPT and Claude, with Google Gemini models powering the experience. Apple's $1 billion annual investment in Google's technology forms the foundation for Apple Foundation Models that will create the enhanced Siri functionality. This update will roll out across iOS, iPadOS, and macOS platforms, marking Apple's biggest Siri update in years.

Beyond Siri, Apple plans to refine its Liquid Glass UI with a system-wide slider allowing users to control the glass effect intensity. Engineers previously encountered challenges implementing this feature across app folders, navigation bars, and home screens. While iOS 26 won't benefit from these updates, users can expect the new Siri and refined Liquid Glass controls with the "27" generation of operating systems.
