Leaked renders of the upcoming Xiaomi 18 show a smartphone design that bears an uncanny resemblance to Apple's iPhone 16 Pro. The Chinese manufacturer's new flagship, slated for a September unveiling, features a similar camera island design and corner curvature that makes it nearly indistinguishable from Apple's 2024 device at first glance.

This isn't the first time Xiaomi has drawn inspiration from Apple's design language, but the similarity appears particularly striking this time around. The render shows a larger camera module compared to the iPhone, but maintains the same overall aesthetic with curved corners and a vertical camera arrangement. Previous rumors suggest the Xiaomi 18 will pack a 6.4-inch OLED display, 50MP main and ultrawide cameras, plus a 200MP periscope telephoto lens.

The device is expected to run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, with a more powerful 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro variant reportedly reserved for the higher-end Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max models. The leak comes as Chinese smartphone makers continue to face criticism for their Apple-inspired designs, though Xiaomi appears undeterred in pursuing this aesthetic direction.
