Anbernic has revealed the RG DDS, a dual-screen handheld dubbed "Dream Dual-Screen" and clearly inspired by the Nintendo 3DS. The device features a 4.7-inch main display with 5:3 aspect ratio (1,200 x 720) and a 4-inch secondary screen with 4:3 aspect ratio (960 x 720), matching the form factor ideal for 3DS game emulation. Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 chip, the RG DDS should handle emulation up to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 2 titles.
It includes an extra analog stick, an extendable capacitive stylus, and a dedicated AI button, though pricing and release dates remain undisclosed. The device is expected to cost slightly more than its $99 predecessor but may still undercut competitors like the Retroid Pocket Duo starting at $149.
