Huawei Watch D3 unboxed: bigger, brighter, thinner

Huawei's unique line of health-obsessed Watch D series' latest model is the Watch D3, and it's better in almost every way compared to its predecessor. We'll get to that, but first, let's unbox it.

You get a similar haul to the D2, but here too there are improvements. The magnetic wireless charging puck ends in a USB-C connection (finally), not USB-A like last year. You get an M-sized strap with a built-in airbag for blood pressure measurements, a wrist circumference ruler, and the watch itself.

The new model has a larger (1.92-inch vs 1.82-inch) and brighter (3,000 nits vs 1,500 nits) display. The watch case is also thinner (11.3mm vs 13.3mm). There are also under-the-hood improvements, such as Bluetooth 6.0 over 5.2. The watch does feel the same as last year, which is to say, light and comfortable. We'll need to check if there's an improvement on the new model's scratch resistance. We also enjoyed solid endurance in testing - around 6 days with the always-on screen enabled. In the meantime, the Watch D3 is £400 and is on sale!
