Which Galaxy Z Fold: Fold8, Fold8 Ultra or Flip8?

Samsung believes foldables are the future – and perhaps wide models like the new Galaxy Z Fold8 are the future of foldables. This brand‑new category will have the widest reach on the global market until Apple’s rumored wide foldable arrives. The Fold8 offers a fresh design and a new user experience that many reviewers are eager to test.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is the successor to the Fold7, not the Fold8. Samsung boosted its battery to 5,000 mAh (600 mAh more than the 2025 Fold) and raised wired charging to 45 W. The camera upgrade is modest – a 50 MP ultra‑wide replaces the 12 MP module, while the 3×10 MP telephoto remains unchanged.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 is slimmer (13.1 mm folded, 6.1 mm unfolded) and lighter (180 g vs. 188 g). It runs the Exynos 2600, except in the US, Canada and China where it uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Battery and charging stay at 25 W, the only premium Galaxy phone not upgraded.

Which model will you choose? Samsung expects the Fold8 to become the best‑selling Z phone, but the Fold8 Ultra may still dominate. The Flip8 could be the last of its line, sparking debate among consumers.
