Ahead of Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, a new supply chain report reveals planned production volumes for upcoming Galaxy Z foldables. The report claims Samsung has set a higher production target for the wide-screen Galaxy Z Fold8 than the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8.

Samsung has asked suppliers to produce around 2.8 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold8. In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra targets roughly 2 million units, while the Galaxy Z Flip8 expects around 1.5 million units.

The higher target suggests strong demand for the wide-screen foldable, rumored to feature a 4:3 aspect ratio to compete with Apple's upcoming iPhone Ultra launching in September. The Galaxy Z Fold8 is confirmed to use a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, with a 7.6-inch inner display, 5.5-inch cover screen, 4,800mAh battery, and dual-rear camera setup.
