Redmi has confirmed plans to launch two new smartphones in India, with the Redmi 17 5G expected to debut alongside the Redmi Turbo 5 on June 18. The entry-level 5G device will feature a massive battery exceeding 7,000mAh and be powered by a Snapdragon 4-series chipset. This positions Redmi to compete aggressively in India's budget 5G segment.

The Redmi 17 5G will include a 50MP primary rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera, paired with an LCD display featuring a high refresh rate. Running Android 16-based HyperOS out of the box, the device promises a modern software experience. This camera setup represents a significant upgrade from previous entry-level Redmi models.

Redmi's strategy follows the successful launch of the Turbo 5 in China, which featured a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen and Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset. By offering both premium and budget options simultaneously, Redmi aims to capture different market segments in India's rapidly growing smartphone market.
