Speedrunners converge on Minneapolis this week for the Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) marathon, beginning Sunday, July 5. The week-long, 24/7 event will feature players tearing through video games for a charitable cause. Viewers can tune into the live action on Twitch, with past runs available as VODs on YouTube.

The event kicks off at 1 PM ET following a preshow, starting with a 102% run of Donkey Kong Country 2. This year's marathon includes debuts for titles like Super Meat Boy 3D and Unbeatable, alongside a unique modded Jak & Daxter run featuring Half-Life's Gordon Freeman. A Super Mario Maker 2 race is also slated.

SGDQ continues its tradition of fundraising for Doctors Without Borders. Last year's event successfully raised over $2.4 million for the organization. The marathon's focus on speedrunning and charity makes it a notable event in the gaming community. The event continues through the week.
