Rode is expanding its Direct Connect feature to the Wireless Pro and Wireless Go (third-gen) microphones through a firmware update. This allows these mics to pair directly with iPhones and iPads via Bluetooth without requiring a physical receiver, streamlining the setup process for mobile creators.

The feature, previously available only on the Wireless Micro, maintains the broadcast-quality audio that Rode's wireless systems are known for. Users can still record from two transmitters in either merged mode for a single stereo track or split mode for separate channels, giving flexibility for post-production editing.

By eliminating the need for a receiver, Rode is making its popular microphones more convenient for smartphone-based content creation. This update benefits existing customers by adding functionality without requiring new hardware purchases, which is both environmentally friendly and cost-effective.
