Rode has expanded its iPhone Direct Connect feature to the Wireless Pro and Wireless Go III microphones through a new firmware update. The feature, previously exclusive to the Wireless Micro, allows these wireless lavalier microphones to pair directly with iPhones via Bluetooth without requiring a receiver.

This update streamlines the recording process for content creators by eliminating the need for a physical connection between the receiver and iPhone. Users must first connect the receiver to their iPhone to install the firmware update via the RØDE Capture app, after which the receiver can be removed. The Direct Connect feature maintains the broadcast-quality audio that Rode's wireless systems are known for, despite using Bluetooth connectivity.

The update represents a significant convenience improvement for mobile journalists, vloggers, and filmmakers who rely on Rode's wireless microphone systems. By removing the receiver from the equation, users gain more flexibility in their shooting setups while maintaining professional audio quality. The firmware update is available now for compatible Wireless Pro and Wireless Go III units.
