Polestar is expanding its lineup with three new models over the next two years, including a station wagon version of the Polestar 4 that draws on the company's Volvo heritage. The Geely-owned Swedish brand sold a record 61,000 EVs in 2025 and aims to capture more market share with these additions. "We want to get more volume out of a bigger cake," CEO Michael Lohscheller said.

Currently offering only the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 SUVs in the US, the company will release a wagon variant of the Polestar 4 later this year. Built in Busan, South Korea, this model combines "the space of an estate and the versatility of an SUV" to avoid US tariffs on Chinese-built vehicles. Polestar is also planning a new Polestar 2 variant for young buyers, though it likely won't reach US shores, and the Polestar 7 compact SUV for the European market.

The expanded lineup supports Polestar's goal of capturing 60 percent of global EV sales by targeting profitable segments. With Europe accounting for 78 percent of sales following the company's exit from China, Polestar sees significant opportunity in the US market. "People forget that the U.S. is a big EV market, especially on the east and west coasts," Lohscheller noted, emphasizing the company's commitment to growth in North America.
