The Pokémon Company officially confirmed Pokémon Wind and Pokémon Waves during their 30th anniversary stream, revealing the Gen 10 games will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. This matches earlier leaks suggesting these titles would launch this year with DLC following in 2027. The games will feature a new region with windswept islands and ocean environments where trainers overcome natural challenges.

The trailer introduced three new starter Pokémon: Browt (grass type), Pombon (fire type), and Gecqua (water type). Players will also see Pikachu in beachwear and Oddish among other Pokémon. Both games will support 11 languages, including Brazilian Portuguese, and focus on teaming up with Pokémon to navigate the dynamic island and ocean landscapes.

The anniversary announcements also revealed Pokémon Champions, a battle-focused game coming to Switch in April before iOS and Android with cross-play capabilities. Additionally, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness will arrive on Switch Online + Expansion Pack in March. As part of the 30th celebrations, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are now available on Switch for $20 each, while the cozy life sim Pokémon Pokopia launches on Switch 2 March 5.
