Pokémon Pokopia is diving deep this summer with a free update that introduces underwater mechanics to the sandbox adventure. Players will receive a diving move from a water-type Pokémon, allowing construction projects to expand beneath the waves. This opens up entirely new areas for creativity, particularly in the game's more aquatic regions.

Nintendo launched the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass today, offering access to three planned DLC packs. The first installment, Bubbly Basin, arrives in August alongside the diving update and features an underwater town, fresh Pokémon encounters, furniture, and character outfits. The second DLC comes later in 2026 with unspecified new features, while the third pack releases in 2027 with another town.

Each DLC pack can be purchased individually or through the Expansion Pass, following Nintendo's approach with Mario Kart 8. The model gives players flexibility while encouraging commitment to the full content roadmap.

Pokémon Pokopia blends elements from Pokémon, Minecraft, Animal Crossing, and Dragon Quest Builders into a unique crafting experience. The underwater expansion significantly expands the building possibilities that define the game's appeal, giving creators an entirely new environment to explore and construct within.
