Meta has launched a standalone desktop app for Meta AI on Mac, marking its latest push to offer business-friendly AI tools. The new app introduces enhanced capabilities compared to the existing web and mobile versions, including screen sharing that lets the assistant view and analyze users' work.

This feature is particularly aimed at businesses, helping them craft posts, ads, and other content with more targeted guidance. Professional users with Facebook and Instagram accounts can now integrate Meta AI with Google Workspace, allowing access to documents, spreadsheets, and other relevant work data.

Meta emphasizes that the tool can provide answers based on account-specific context like engagement metrics and ad performance, along with publicly available insights about comparable brands. This update aligns with Meta's broader strategy to attract business owners who use its platforms for marketing and sales.

The company has also recently introduced a more affordable AI coding agent and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has expressed ambitions for AI agents to manage entire businesses. While the Mac app is free, Meta is gradually implementing rate limits for advanced features, which require a Meta One subscription plan.
