As Dead by Daylight approaches its 10th anniversary, Behaviour Interactive is finally adding the long-awaited horror icon Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th series as a playable killer. This addition comes after years of legal complications prevented the hockey-masked slasher from joining the game's roster, despite developers openly expressing their desire to include him.

Over the past decade, Behaviour has brought numerous high-profile horror characters into Dead by Daylight, including Vecna, the Demogorgon, Chucky, Pyramid Head, and Freddy Krueger. Jason had remained a glaring omission from this lineup, with other games like MultiVersus, Call of Duty, and Fortnite already securing the rights to the iconic character through the Jason Universe initiative.

The Jason DLC will be available on June 16, two days after Behaviour's 10th anniversary stream on June 14. This significant crossover represents a major win for horror game fans and solidifies Dead by Daylight's position as a premier destination for iconic horror characters in gaming, likely boosting player engagement as the game enters its second decade.
