'VILE: Exhumed' was previously caught in Steam's censorship issues, making the newly announced physical edition a chance to refocus attention on the game itself. Cadaver sees this physical release as a form of regaining control and a way to honor the characters, particularly Molly, by giving her a moment beyond her trauma. The game is described as a "found-footage horror story" with a genuinely terrifying edge.

The physical edition, priced at $9.99, includes an eight-page booklet, a jewel case, hand-written labels, and a DRM-free CD-ROM. The first 100 copies will be individually numbered. Proceeds from both the digital and physical versions benefit Final Girl Games and the Red Door Family Shelter.
