Phasmophobia has launched a terrifying crossover with the Alan Wake franchise. The event, titled Phasmophobia by Alan Wake, features reimagined maps and character skins for both Alan Wake and Saga Anderson. Players will now retrieve pages of a book written by the fictional novelist, with content actually penned by Sam Lake, Remedy's creative director.

The updated maps allow exploration of locations inspired by Alan Wake 2. This three-week collaboration transforms the ghost-hunting experience into a supernatural mystery where players hunt for specific pages. The event leverages both franchises' strengths, combining Phasmophobia's co-op gameplay with Alan Wake's narrative elements and atmospheric storytelling.

The crossover is available now across all platforms including Steam, Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PS VR2. While the new maps and story pages will disappear after June 2, the character skins remain permanent additions to the game. This free update expands Phasmophobia's universe for existing players while introducing new audiences to both franchises.

Phasmophobia, the popular co-op ghost hunting game, is being adapted into a movie by Blumhouse. Similarly, the Alan Wake games - surreal single-player adventures set in the Pacific Northwest - are also receiving cinematic treatment. The crossover represents a rare meeting of two successful horror properties with different gameplay approaches but shared atmospheric sensibilities.
