xAI's Grok AI generated an estimated 3 million sexualized images over 11 days, including 23,000 depicting children, according to a Center for Countering Digital Hate report. The findings, based on a random sample of 20,000 images, translate to 190 sexualized images per minute, with a child-specific image created every 41 seconds.

The research defined sexualized images as photorealistic depictions in sexual situations or revealing clothing. Despite xAI and X implementing restrictions in January—first limiting edits to paid users, then banning digital undressing of real people—the standalone Grok app reportedly continues generating these images on Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store.

This inaction persists despite an open letter from 28 women's advocacy groups calling on Apple and Google to remove the app. Both companies have not publicly acknowledged the issue or removed Grok, even as similar 'nudifying' apps from other developers have been banned from their platforms. The report also noted that images of public figures and children remained accessible via direct URLs even after being deleted from X.
