Following up on the success of the Pura X, Huawei is reportedly preparing to launch a new non-folding smartphone featuring a similar 16:10 screen aspect ratio. According to recent rumors, the device is now expected to debut in September, earlier than the previously anticipated October-to-December timeframe. The upcoming phone is said to be powered by a Kirin 9-series chipset and equipped with a battery capacity of at least 7,000 mAh.

It is also rumored to include a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.3" sensor, alongside a 50MP periscope telephoto camera and a multispectral camera setup. The device appears to have been finalized ahead of schedule, suggesting Huawei is accelerating its release timeline. Meanwhile, Oppo is also developing its own take on this wide-screen form factor, featuring a 6.3" to 6.4" display with the same 16:10 aspect ratio.

That model is expected to arrive in the first half of next year and will reportedly include a flagship chipset and a triple rear camera system with a periscope telephoto lens. Both devices signal growing interest in tablet-like smartphone designs.
