Kia has announced US pricing for its compact EV3, with the electric vehicle starting at $29,450 plus a $1,495 destination charge, bringing the total to $30,945. This positions the EV3 as the most affordable electric car in Kia's lineup.

The EV3 boasts an estimated range of up to 321 miles on a full charge and will be available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive. It incorporates design cues from the larger EV9 SUV but in a package similar in size to Kia's Niro crossover. Notably, the EV3 includes an NACS port for compatibility with Tesla's Supercharger network and supports DC fast charging, capable of reaching an 80% charge in approximately 31 minutes with a 350kW charger.

This competitive pricing arrives at a critical juncture for the US EV market, where affordable options are scarce. With potential changes to federal tax credits in July 2025, Kia's EV3 joins a select group of EVs, like the Slate Truck, priced under $30,000. Ford's upcoming "Fathom" EV truck is also set to enter this segment in early 2027 with a starting price of $28,350. Meanwhile, California's new rebate program offers incentives for EV purchases.
