Google's research tool, NotebookLM, has been rebranded as Gemini Notebook to align with its broader AI offerings. This change reflects the tool's deeper integration with Gemini, which began in April.

Along with the new name, Gemini Notebook gains enhanced functionality, including the ability to natively write and execute code. This allows for complex data analysis directly from uploaded research materials. Google also announced that notebooks created within Gemini Notebook will soon be accessible in AI mode within Google Search.

The platform has seen significant growth, boasting over 30 million individual users and more than 600,000 organizations. The rebranding signifies a closer relationship with the Gemini family of AI products, even as it retains its standalone status for now.
