Google has resolved an irritating bug that prevented Android users from accessing edited photos in other apps like messaging and social media services. The issue, which emerged over the summer, caused edited images to be missing from the image picker. Users discovered that saving an edited image as a copy instead of overwriting the original worked around the problem.
However, those preferring only the edited version faced an inconvenience until the fix. According to APK Mirror founder Artem Russakovskii and 9to5Google, the issue is now resolved, freeing edited images from Google Photos purgatory. This follows another recent Google Photos bug last month that made Share, Edit, Add to, and Trash buttons unresponsive on certain devices after edits, which Google resolved within days.
