BMW unveiled its 2027 7‑Series, branding it the most extensive update in the line’s history. The range spans two i7 electric sedans, a plug‑in hybrid, two conventional ICE variants and a V8‑powered M model, all built on the new “Neue Klasse” architecture. Designers tout a monolithic aesthetic, crystal headlights and a light‑up kidney grille, while a dual‑finish paint option adds a matte‑to‑metallic contrast.

The i7 50 xDrive delivers 449 hp and 487 lb‑ft, sprinting 0‑60 mph in 5.3 seconds, while the i7 60 xDrive pushes 536 hp and 549 lb‑ft for a 4.6‑second run and a limited 149 mph top speed. Both models house cylindrical batteries up to 112.5 kWh, giving the 60 xDrive an EPA‑estimated 350 miles range and supporting 250 kW fast charging—0‑80 % in roughly 28 minutes. An adaptive recuperation system can modulate braking based on traffic signals, offering a near‑one‑pedal experience.

Production of the i7s starts in July 2026 at Dingolfing, with base pricing of $106,200 for the 50 xDrive and $124,700 for the 60 xDrive, plus destination fees. BMW also previewed a 750e xDrive plug‑in hybrid slated for 2027 and ICE 740 variants arriving later this year. By consolidating all powertrains on a single line, BMW signals a decisive shift toward electrification in its flagship sedan segment.
