Ball x Pit will receive a substantial update on April 27, adding 11 new balls with special powers alongside two new characters and four passive upgrades. Designer Kenny Sun revealed the details on the PlayStation Blog, continuing the roguelite brick-buster's evolution since its mobile launch earlier this year. The update represents the second wave of free content planned for 2026.

New characters include The Tiptoer, who can approach enemies without fear of retaliation but has reduced health and damage, and The Tunneller, whose balls wrap around screen edges. The 11 new balls offer unique abilities: Venom slows and paralyzes targets, time-based balls freeze enemies, Erosion saps health percentages, and the Warp ball jumps randomly while gaining speed with each hit. Passive abilities like Full Metal Rapier scale damage based on enemy count.

The update also introduces a Guildhall building allowing players to modify previously chosen character upgrades. This content follows January's update that added an endless mode and more upgrades, with a third update expected in July. Devolver Digital and Sun continue expanding the game's mechanics while maintaining its chaotic charm.
