Foldable iPhone

Apple is already planning a third-generation foldable iPhone that could launch as early as 2028. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the device would follow the expected first-gen foldable and could feature larger displays. The foldable lineup may ship in silver and dark blue colorways, with camera protector accessories for the so-called iPhone Ultra also hinting at those finishes. Separately, Gurman reports that the launch as early as 2028 is part of a longer roadmap.

Apple Watch Evolution

Apple may reintroduce a ceramic Apple Watch as soon as September, according to Gurman. The material would return after a seven-year absence. Leaked supply chain details point to a ceramic case arriving with the Apple Watch Series. Beyond materials, Apple is exploring radical new designs including a round model and a screenless fitness tracker. The company is reportedly planning a revamp after a relatively modest 2026 upgrade. Gurman also notes that a new ceramic Apple Watch could go on sale this year, and that round screens are among the concepts under active consideration.

Upgrade Program and Data Privacy

Apple reportedly evaluated giving Upgrade Program buyers iPhones with all preloaded data from their previous device, but scrapped the feature over privacy concerns. The scrapped Apple Upgrade feature would have made setup much more seamless, but the data-copying process raised optics issues that Apple deemed unacceptable.
