Apple has released macOS Tahoe 26.4, the latest update to its Mac operating system, following weeks of beta testing. The update comes after macOS 26.3.2 and brings several behind-the-scenes improvements to performance and security, though it lacks the rumored enhanced Siri features that many users have been waiting for.

Among the visible additions are eight new emoji and the option to use MacBook Neo's colorful wallpapers on all compatible devices. A notable new feature is the charge limit slider, which allows users to set maximum battery charging levels on MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and MacBook Neo models. This mirrors a similar feature previously introduced for iPhone in iOS 18.

The update also includes a warning about the future removal of Rosetta 2, Apple's translation layer for running Intel apps on Apple Silicon Macs. This confirms Apple's continued transition away from Intel support, with macOS Tahoe being the final OS update to support any Intel-based Macs. While the emoji and wallpaper options provide cosmetic changes, the battery management tool offers practical benefits for users concerned about long-term battery health.
