Apple has released macOS Tahoe 26.4 beta 1 to public testers, bringing the same four key changes that debuted yesterday for developers. The update introduces Battery Charge Limit, allowing MacBook users to cap charging between 80% and 100%, mirroring a feature already available on iOS devices.

Safari users will appreciate the return of the compact tab bar option in System Settings, which had disappeared in the initial Tahoe release. The beta also adds warning popups when launching Rosetta apps, reminding users that Intel app support ends with macOS 26. Apple confirms this is the final macOS version compatible with Intel Macs before the transition to macOS 27.

The update addresses the window corner radius bug that plagued Tahoe's debut, though Apple previously claimed to have fixed it in 26.3 before backtracking. This correction ensures the resize pointer now properly follows window shapes. With macOS 27 on the horizon and Intel Mac support ending, these refinements in 26.4 represent Apple's final optimizations for its aging Intel hardware platform.
