Apple has made the macOS Tahoe 26.4 Release Candidate available to developers and public beta testers. This final version comes after the fourth beta and represents what will be released to the public if no additional bugs are discovered. Users can download it through System Settings, with Beta Updates enabled and a free developer account required.

The update introduces several user-requested features. Mac users gain a new Charge Limit option allowing selection of maximum battery levels from 80 to 100 percent. Apple also brought back the Compact tab layout in Safari for those who missed this option in earlier macOS versions. These changes address feedback from the user community.

Apple silicon Macs running apps dependent on Rosetta will see warnings about its upcoming discontinuation. After macOS 27, Apple will phase out Rosetta support entirely, requiring all dependent apps to be updated before that time. The public release of macOS Tahoe 26.4 is expected this spring following the current beta testing period.
