Reports indicate that Apple is gearing up for a second MacBook Pro update in 2026, featuring an OLED display. Production of the M6 chip and the advanced display is slated to begin within months, suggesting a summer mass production timeline. Samsung Display will manufacture the OLED panel, the first of its kind using the A6 production line.

The adoption of OLED is a major upgrade, promising enhanced image quality. Samsung aims to ship around 2 million panels by the end of 2026. However, it's possible the OLED screen may be limited to the higher-end M6 Pro and M6 Max models. This strategy would allow Apple to manage costs and production.

The M6 chip, produced by TSMC using a 2-nanometer process, is also on track for an earlier production schedule. While the 2-nanometer process offers improvements, Apple might not utilize the most advanced version. This balance lets Apple release the chip sooner without extensive architectural changes.

This move demonstrates Apple's commitment to pushing display and performance boundaries. The shift to OLED and the advanced chip technology will likely drive a new wave of innovation in the laptop market. Consumers can expect a more vibrant and efficient MacBook Pro experience in 2026.
