Apple has released the first developer betas of 27.3, introducing three major new features to Safari across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Vertical tabs arrive on all platforms, offering a space-efficient way to scan full tab titles, even supporting iPhone Duo. Adaptive Dark Mode uses Apple Intelligence to intelligently darken websites with light backgrounds, prompting users to enable it on first visit and adjusting text contrast, logos, and layered shadows.
Siri AI expands within Safari, gaining additional context and expanded controls to understand the entirety of a page, such as identifying the weight of a product from a long description. The 27.3 update is a significant release for Apple, bringing new features across all platforms including the return of the Health app, new Siri AI features for Apple Watch, and Apple Intelligence coming to China. Adaptive Dark Mode is currently in beta and may improve throughout the cycle.
