Apple is introducing a Vertical Tabs layout in Safari with iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, and macOS Golden Gate 27.3. This feature places tabs on the left side of the screen, using icons by default but offering an option to display website titles. It integrates with Topics and Tab Groups for better organization.
Additionally, Adaptive Dark Mode is added for websites lacking native dark mode, automatically adjusting backgrounds, text contrast, and graphics. Siri gains new AI actions to manage tabs, windows, and web history, including clearing history by site and time period. A future update will allow Siri to understand full webpage content across tabs, enabling tasks like sorting products by price.
These changes are available in developer betas now, with a public release expected in December. An Apple Intelligence-capable device is required for Siri features.
