Apple has launched the iOS 27.3 beta, bringing select Apple Intelligence features to developers in China for the first time. This marks a major milestone after regulatory delays, enabled by a partnership with Alibaba. The update integrates Alibaba's Qwen model into core features like Siri, Writing Tools, and Visual Intelligence.
Live Translation now works across Messages, FaceTime, and Phone, including support for AirPods 4 with ANC and AirPods Pro 2. Writing Tools offer rewriting, proofreading, and text generation via Qwen. Visual Intelligence identifies objects and places, while Photos gains Clean Up, Genmoji creation, and natural language search.
Additional features include notification summaries, smart email replies, audio transcription in Notes, and call transcripts saved to Notes. Siri can now relay requests to Qwen for deeper answers. Notably, this version excludes Siri AI, the standalone Siri app, and newer iOS 27 features. A public beta is expected soon, with a full release slated for December.
