Google announced several Gemini AI updates coinciding with Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event. Gemini is integrated into Intelligent Eyewear, a collaboration with Samsung, and now offers a hands-free activation feature on the Galaxy Watch 9, where users can simply raise their wrist to engage the AI without speaking.

Gemini Notebook is now pre-installed on Samsung's new foldables, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8. The Fold 8 specifically enhances multitasking, allowing users to drag and drop content from other apps directly into the AI notebook for tasks like itinerary generation or creating presentations. Gemini's task automation is also expanding to over 40 apps, enabling it to understand on-screen content for tasks like ordering similar items from online stores, with users able to monitor and intervene in the process.

Additionally, a new native migration experience built into Android 17 will allow more data types, including Google Account information and Wi-Fi details, to be transferred wirelessly from an iPhone. Intelligent Eyewear, which debuted at Google I/O, also receives two new frame styles post-Unpacked.
