Google has started rolling out Android 17 QPR2 Beta 3 for enrolled Pixel testers, bringing significant restrictions for call-forwarding fraud. The update, available to devices like the Pixel 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet, carries version numbers CP41.260731.005.A2 and CP41.260731.005.B1 depending on the model. The beta focuses primarily on security and stability enhancements rather than major new features.

Two key bug fixes address issues in the notification shade and Quick Settings, resolving visual corruption and unexpected device restarts. Additionally, false battery capacity degradation warnings in Device Health and Support tools have been corrected. The standout feature is Google's new security restrictions for call-forwarding fraud, introducing API limitations and a mandatory OS-level confirmation dialog when users manually dial call-forwarding codes.

Beyond security, the beta introduces Quick Settings layout customization with three new arrangement options for brightness, tiles, and media controls. Foldable users gain an app handle for easier window management. Meanwhile, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro have been removed from the beta program due to reaching their upgrade cycle end. The Pixel 11 series is now available for pre-order ahead of its market launch.

QPR2 Beta 3 continues Google's consistent beta release schedule that began in mid-July, positioning itself as the upcoming December 2026 Pixel Feature Drop.
