Android 17 QPR2 Beta Fixes Bluetooth, Gemini Bugs

Google has released Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1, beginning testing for the December 2026 Pixel Feature Drop. The update carries build number CP41.260701.005 and supports devices from the Pixel 6a through the Pixel 10 lineup, plus the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet. It is available via the Android Beta Program and Android Emulator.

This quarterly release focuses on stability rather than new features. Google fixed an issue where Bluetooth devices failed to reconnect after losing pairing, resolved lock screen media controls flashing when notifications were disabled, and addressed a critical crash causing devices to reboot when launching Gemini. A touch input bug where apps stopped receiving events after multi-finger drag-and-drop gestures was also patched.

Notably, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have reached their guaranteed update limits; the previous QPR1 branch is their final beta track. Android Central's Jay Bonggolto argues that while bug fixes are welcome, Pixel owners expect a premium experience without acting as unpaid QA testers.
