Apple's upcoming M6 MacBook Pro is rumored to bring four major innovations that would mark first-time features for the Mac lineup. The most surprising addition is touch support, which would bring a touchscreen interface to macOS for the first time. According to reports, Apple is developing specialized touch controls that adapt based on whether users tap or click.

Beyond touch, the M6 MacBook Pro will reportedly feature Apple's first OLED display on a Mac, offering improved contrast and color accuracy in the same 14-inch and 16-inch form factors. The device will also replace the current notch with a Dynamic Island centered at the top of the screen, bringing iPhone's popular interface element to macOS. This smaller camera cutout will house system notifications and controls.

A wildcard addition could be cellular connectivity using Apple's C2 modem, though this remains uncertain. While Apple investigated bringing cellular to the Mac, previous reports suggested it might not arrive until 2026 with a second-generation modem. With a hardware redesign also planned, the M6 MacBook Pro could debut these features together, though Apple's final plans remain unclear.
