iPhone 18 Pro Rumored to Be Thicker

A Weibo leaker, "Fixed Focus Digital," claims the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro will be approximately 2mm thicker than its predecessor. This assertion follows a data breach at Apple supplier Tata, which reportedly included internal documents and videos of iPhone 18 Pro models undergoing drop tests. Footage from these tests appeared to show a device bulkier than the current iPhone 17 Pro Max, particularly around the camera module.

The leaker suggests this increased thickness is linked to a potential redesign of the main camera's lens system, possibly incorporating variable aperture technology. Fixed Focus Digital also reiterated earlier speculation that the iPhone 18 Pro will continue to use an aluminum alloy backplate and midframes, a material they believe will remain standard for slab-style phones for an extended period.

If confirmed, this 2mm increase could represent a notable design shift for Apple's flagship smartphone. Consumers might notice a difference in handling, while the internal changes could signal advancements in camera capabilities.
