Apple's iPhone 18 Pro Max will be thicker than its predecessor due to an upgraded camera system, according to dummy unit measurements shared by YouTuber Vadir Yuryev of the Max Tech channel. Both the camera plateau and lens protrusions will extend further from the device compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The camera bump will measure 13.77mm on the iPhone 18 Pro Max, up from 12.92mm on the 17 Pro Max, while the plateau increases from 11.23mm to 11.54mm. Apple's official body depth remains 8.75mm for both Pro models, with the iPhone Air maintaining the thinnest profile at 5.64mm. The trade-off allows Apple to prioritize camera performance over slimness.

Yuryev also compared an iPhone Ultra dummy unit to the iPad mini, showcasing Apple's upcoming foldable. The device is expected to run two iPhone apps side-by-side, with recent rumors suggesting it won't face significant delays beyond the fall iPhone 18 Pro launch.
