iPhone 18 Pro Leaks Reveal Massive New Camera Bump

Leaks suggest Apple is planning a significant design change for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. While the overall chassis dimensions remain similar to previous models, the camera plateau is getting thicker. Dummy models reveal a jump in total thickness, moving from 12.92mm on the 17 Pro Max to 13.77mm on the 18 Pro Max.

This growth stems from a move toward larger hardware. Reports indicate the device will house a 48MP ultra-large sensor and a variable aperture system for the main camera. These components require more physical depth, and the aluminum plateau itself is thicker to accommodate the new lens array and rumored telephoto upgrades.

Users will notice a more prominent protrusion on the back of the device. This hardware shift reflects a push for better light intake and optical flexibility, though it compromises the phone's flatness. The design trade-off prioritizes sensor performance over a slim profile, resulting in a larger lens footprint for the Pro series.
