iPhone 18 Pro Max Thickness Leaked at 8.75mm with Increased Battery

Weibo leaker Ice Universe claims the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max will maintain the same 8.75mm thickness as its predecessor, contradicting earlier reports suggesting it would be slightly thicker. This revelation comes amid speculation that Apple's development resources have shifted toward its rumored foldable iPhone Ultra model, potentially explaining the limited evolution expected in the Pro lineup this year.

The leaker's March claim about increased thickness aligned with reports that the iPhone 18 Pro Max would become the heaviest iPhone yet, weighing over 240 grams. However, if Apple manages to keep the same profile while adding internal components, this could indicate design optimizations. The same source previously indicated weight increases, making the thickness claim somewhat surprising given the expected hardware changes.

Digital Chat Station suggests the device will pack a larger battery between 5,100 and 5,200 mAh, up from the iPhone 17 Pro Max's 5,088 mAh. Other rumored upgrades include a next-generation C2 modem, simplified Camera Control, and a main camera with variable aperture. The 6.9-inch display size remains unchanged from the current model.

Apple reportedly plans to shrink the Dynamic Island on both iPhone 18 Pro models while introducing these internal improvements. The company is expected to unveil the devices in mid-September alongside the foldable iPhone Ultra, marking a significant shift in Apple's roadmap priorities.
