Apple Wallet’s support for digital driver’s licenses keeps expanding, with North Carolina the latest state to announce that it’s launching soon.

A new digital driver’s license is launching later this year, letting residents obtain a digital ID that can be stored on their iPhone. Initially, the ID will be available only in the official NC Wallet app, but the state says support for Apple Wallet is coming “in early 2027.”

If you’re a North Carolina resident, you can apply to participate in a 60‑minute feedback session. The state is exploring mobile IDs and new ways to make digital services easier for residents. Participants will earn a $50 digital gift card for their assistance.

Beyond confirmed Apple Wallet support, several other states are preparing to adopt Wallet IDs, including Utah, Virginia, and Oklahoma. Interested in using a digital driver’s license in Apple Wallet? Let us know in the comments.
