Concertgoers and sports fans say getting a refund from StubHub can be a challenge when something goes wrong. Many said refunds came only after threatening credit-card disputes, while others never received money at all. A StubHub spokesperson said about 1% of orders result in a refund, noting the company has helped millions of fans over 26 years.

More than 75 readers shared stories after a Wall Street Journal article on refund struggles. Leigh Ann Margolin of Goleta, Calif., said her daughter's AJR tickets at Red Rocks Amphitheatre arrived 24 minutes after the show started. Despite immediate requests, StubHub cited a 37-day policy and claimed she attended.

Kevin Alleman of Union, Ky., bought Alan Jackson tickets for $600. Morning of the show, he was told tickets were unavailable, yet the site listed two for over $4,000. Offered an "upgrade" to the last row, he called it "absolutely not an upgrade."

Chuck Wilkins of Reston, Va., ordered eight 24 Hours of Le Mans tickets lost by UPS. The refund dragged on for weeks until he disputed the charge.
