StubHub CEO Funds Ticket Scalpers

StubHub CEO Eric Baker is reportedly investing millions through his company, Andro Capital, to support bulk ticket scalpers who then resell on StubHub. This arrangement, disclosed in the platform's September 2025 SEC filings, also involves a partnership between StubHub and Andro affiliate Colloquy Capital, which finances these mass scalpers.

While StubHub stated this isn't new information, the extent of the entanglement has surprised many users. The company has faced previous accusations of price gouging and settled a $10 million lawsuit with the FTC in April over deceptive pricing advertisements. StubHub also recently canceled numerous World Cup ticket orders, leading to two potential class-action lawsuits.

In 2025, StubHub processed $9.2 billion in ticket transactions. The resale market, plagued by bots and inconsistent pricing, sees mass scalpers contributing to instability. Baker's direct financial involvement through Andro and Colloquy funnels millions into this system, raising questions about the platform's integrity and consumer impact.
