PS5エミュレータGTA 5を60 FPSでPCで実行

The KytyPS5 project can now run the PS5 version of Grand Theft Auto 5 at up to 60 FPS on PC, a big jump from just a month ago when the game was still stuck at its splash screen. It looks like the emulator can only hold that performance for a few minutes before crashing, but that's still a massive leap from where things stood back in July, when GTA 5 had only reached its in-game menus. A demo shared on X shows GTA 5 footage running on a Ryzen 9 9950 X3D paired with a Radeon RX 7900 XT, with performance reportedly ranging from 40 to 60 FPS depending on the scene.

The game is playable for a few minutes in the opening North Yankton scene, but crashes just before the police encounter. Separately, at least four other PS5 titles have been shown hitting 60 FPS on the emulator, suggesting the progress isn't limited to one specific game. Sharp Emu, the other major PS5 emulation project, is taking a slower approach, focusing on low-level accuracy and infrastructure first, before tackling individual game compatibility.

All this is happening as PS5 hardware demand keeps climbing ahead of GTA 6's launch, with no PC version of Rockstar's next game confirmed yet. However, even if the emulation keeps advancing at this rate, it will be nearly impossible to get a playable build of GTA 6 on these emulators any time soon. Still, it's pretty cool to see PS5 emulation advancing so quickly.
