Terrion Arnold arrested on kidnapping and armed robbery charges

Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold was taken into custody Wednesday in Tampa after turning himself in on four kidnapping and four armed‑robbery counts. Police label him the primary conspirator in a February 4 assault on three teenage men, during which victims were pistol‑whipped and robbed. The charges carry a maximum life in prison sentence.

Investigators say Arnold and five co‑defendants lured the teens to a Tampa apartment, streamed the attack to accomplices, and used a group chat to coordinate directions. Earlier that week, thieves stole personal items worth over $250,000 from an Airbnb Arnold rented in Largo. Police stress the robbery and the prior theft are unrelated, and six suspects have been arrested between Feb. 4 and Mar. 21.

Arnold, a 2024 first‑round pick who has appeared in 24 games, now faces a legal cloud that could sideline him for the season. The Lions issued a brief statement acknowledging the case but declined comment. Representative Denise White disputes the evidence, claiming reliance on incentivized testimony. Regardless, the franchise must adjust its secondary cornerback depth without Arnold. His absence hurts Detroit's pass defense.
